There is no fixed amount that any parent needs to pay in child support. The amount of child support depends upon how much the parent earns in income, how much the parent's need for his own support is and other circumstances.

Support is usually based upon the child's best interest and the parent's ability to provide. So, kung ang husband ay seaman, dollars ang kinikita niya, pero, kung siya'y may mga gastusin ding personal (for food, clothing, shelter and medical needs), those will also be considered. If the seaman is an only child and his parents depend upon him for support, those are also factors to consider.

If the other parent (the parent who has custody of the child/children) is working, then the support of the children can be shared between them, pero, the parent who makes more money should pay more in child support.

The best thing to do is to make a list of regular expenses of the child for food, clothing, shelter, schooling and medical needs. Then, you will have a framework within which to figure out how much each parent needs to give in support for each child.
