Most laws are of local application. So, Philippine laws are applicable only within the territorial jurisdiction of the Philippines, lalo na ang mga criminal laws.

Personal laws on marriage, civil status, legitimacy, etc. follow Filipinos wherever they may be found.

Ngayon, ang banking laws ng Philippines apply to banks within the Philippines only. They cannot be made to apply to banks in other countries, unless, those international banks set up local affiliates, subsidiaries or branches here.

In this case, the Anti-Money Laundering Act here in the Philippines may be similar to Anti-Money Laundering acts in other countries -- similar, but not identical. So, hindi pa rin masasabi na may mga international laws kung saan ang lahat ng mga bansa ay sumasailalim. kasi, each state or country has its own sovereignty and it can make its own laws.
