Ang pangngalan ay bahagi ng pananalita na ginagamit bilang pantawag sa ngalan ng tao, bagay, hayop, pook at pangyayari

Ito ang nagsisilbing panawag natin sa mga bagay-bagay upang madali nting matukoy ang mga gusto nating sabihin sa ating kausap

May dalawang uri ng pangngalan.

1.      Pantangi - Ito ang pangunahing ginagamit bilang pantawag sa tanging ngalan ng tao, bagay, hayop, pook at pangyayari. Kadalasang nagsisimula ito sa malaking titik.

 HALIMBAWA:

a.      Si Aling Marga ay bumili ng mantika.

b.      Ang Luzon ang pinakamalaking populasyon sa Pilipinas.

 
2.      Pambalana – Ito naman ang ginagamit na pantawag o pantukoy sa di-tiyak na ngalan ng tao, bagay, hayop, pook at pangyayari. Lagi naman itong nagsisimula sa maliit na letra o titik.

 HALIMBAWA:
a.     Ang aso naming ay malambing.

b.     Ang bahay naming ay ang pinakamalaki sa lalawigan na ito.
