At the start of 2013, there were around 2,385 Filipinos living in Finland. Around 70 percent of them are female. (Souces: Finalnd Statistics, Finnish Immigration Service) Filipinos in Finland have been a very female dominated group of immigrants: nearly 80 percent of them were women until early 2000's. The persentage of women is now slowly decreasing, and was 70,4 % in the beginning of year 2013. Previously, the "males" in statistics were mostly boy children and only a few of them grown-up male migrants.

After the Finnish alien policy was changed in 2004, the number of immigrating Filipinos likewise started increasing, among them more men than previously. For instance, in the year 2007, 114 Filipinos entered Finland with a work permit, more than 50 % of them males. In 2008, 208 Filipinos who migrated to Finland work permits. They have settled in a variety of different jobs, but mostly in care-giving, cleaning and service sector jobs.

Usually Filipinos find jobs more easily than other migrant groups. This is due to relatively better education, better English skills, and Finnish relatives and friends who can help them in finding jobs.
