Ang malinaw na sagot po ay madala g ang survivor ng stage 4 cancer. Ano po ba ang ibig sabihin nito? Ang stage 1 ay ang cancer ay nasa organ or isang parte lamang, ang stage 2 ay ibig sabihin ay kumalat na ito sa organ pero limitado lamang. Ang stage 3 ay kumalat na ito sa karamihan ng organ na tinuruan nito kasama ang mga malapit na mga system. Ang stage 4 ay ibig sabihin ay may metastases na ito or kumalat sa malayong parte ng katawan. Ito ay may poor prognosis or pangit ang kala labasan. In addition po ito ay lung cancer isa siya sa mga mabibilis ang pagkalat. Hindi po sa pagmamalupit or pag tanong pero usually po maswerte nang tumagal ng 6 months ang pasyente. Ito ang usual na pangyayari. Usually inaadvise narin namin ang pasyente at ang pamilya na isettle ang mga bagay sa pamilya at maaring I refer sa isang palliative care na tutulog maging kumportable ang pasyente habang sa kanyang kakayahan.

Paano po nasabi na stage 4 na ang cancer? Kahit na stage 4 na, may mga gamot pa rin na pwedeng ma offer sa pasyente at sa pamilya pero nararapat po na maunawaan ninyo na kapag stage 4 na ang cancer, ang layunin ng paggamot ay hindi na para mapagaling ang cancer kundi ay subukan na pahabain na lamang ang buhay ng pasyente. Bihira lamang, pero mayroon pa ring mga pasyenteng humahaba ang buhay at gumaganda ang kalidad ng buhay kapag nagpagamot. Mayroon din namang nawawala talaga ang kanser. Marami pong dapat isaalang-alang at hindi lamang ang actual na stage ng cancer. Mabuting magpatingin sa isang oncologist na specialist sa cancer upang masuri ang pasyente at maexplain nang mabuti ang kalagayan ng pasyente.
