Ito ay depende sa iyong edad, at kung babae ka, kapag nagmemenopause ka na. Kung ikaw ay isang babae na hindi pa nagmemenopause, subukan ang 700mg kada araw. Ito ang rekomendadong dami ng calcium kada araw sa matatanda ayon sa Department of Health ng isang kilalang bansa. Kung kakain ka ng masustansiya at balanseng diet, makukuha mo ang 700 mg na calcium galing lamang sa iyong pagkain. Kapag nahirapan ka dito, baka kailanganin mong uminom ng calcium supplement. Kapag naabot mo naman ang menopause, gawing 1000 mg kada araw ang calcium sa iyong pagkain. Ang mataas na bilang na ito ay akma din sa mga mayroong osteoporosis. Kung meron kang osteoporosis, maaari kang bigyan ng calcium supplement at gamot sa osteoporosis. Para bigyan ka ng ilang ideya kung paano makakakuha ng sapat na calcium sa iyong pagkain, narito ang bilang sa mga pangkaraniwang pagkain.

• Ang 100g ng fruit yoghurt ay may 122 mg na calcium
• Ang 100g na cheddar cheese ay may 739 mg na calcium

• Ang apat na slice ng wholemeal bread ay may 105 mg na calcium
• Ang 100 g na nasa latang sardinas (in oil) ay may 105mg na calcium
• Ang 100g na nasa latang salmon ay may 500mg na calcium
• Ang 100g na baked beans ay may 53mg na calcium
