Obesity in children is multi-factorial. Some of the risk factors associated with childhood obesity are choosing high fat and sugary foods instead of healthier options, lack of physical activity, and spending a lot of time on sedentary pursuits around 2½ hours of television a day, as well as spending time using computers and other electronic games. It seems that these pastimes are replacing active ones. Aside from these, having overweight parents can also lead to obesity in children because a family’s eating patterns can have a major influence on whether a child maintains a healthy weight. Some overweight parents may be less concerned about their children also being overweight than parents who have a healthy weight. Lastly, some rare genetic disorders causes severe childhood obesity. In many other people, particular genes acting together probably make some children more susceptible to obesity.

Sintomas

Obesity is a common problem that can lead to other health conditions. However, many parents fail to recognize that their child is obese and they tend to consider their child's body size as normal. Maybe because they are not aware of the real meaning of obesity. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention currently recommends that children age two and up have their body mass index (BMI) calculated and plotted on a growth chart, to see how he/she compares with other children of the same sex and age. A child with a BMI that falls above the 95th percentile is considered obese. Aside from this, other symptoms associated with obesity are weight-related conditions like type 2 diabetes, sleep apnea and knee or hip pain. High cholesterol, abnormal liver enzymes, asthma, skin conditions and headache are other possible symptoms. Research also shows that overweight children have lower self-esteem than their thinner peers, and may face teasing and discrimination at school.

Lunas at gamot

The treatment goal for obesity is primarily focused on changing unhealthy lifestyle and habits. One helpful tip is to give your child healthy snacks. Instead of giving junk foods, you can offer pumpkin or squash seeds mixed with nuts like almonds, pistachios and macadamia. . They break down slowly and feed you gradually, helping your child avoid hunger and low blood sugar; while bathing their cells with “healthy” fat. Also, it would be beneficial if you will reduce sugar and increase healthy choices of foods such as fruits and vegetables. Lastly, observe a quality family time because according to a study, the benefits of eating dinner as a family appear to include improved diet quality, reduced high-risk adolescent behaviors such as tobacco, alcohol and marijuana use, and improved performance in school.

Home Remedies at Prevention o paano maiwasan
